“Inconstant Moon” doesn’t have a single protagonist, but rather a group of students combine to fill the role, making it an “ensemble novel.”

Creating characters has always been one of my strengths. When I began writing, I thought one of the characters would assume prominence, but in fact, it balanced out rather equably, with even the characters intended to be peripheral developing and staking claim to their bit of turf.
